a laid back drive

supressing the words i haven't said in years
i could feel our hearts race.
like galloping horses.
seeing you again
still not sure what to say.
days with you are always slow
and calming.
you haven't said a word yet
just busying yourself with the wind outside.
we pass by the park benches
where we'd sit for morning coffee's and jog home.
i glance at you from the corner of my eye
nothing's changed since.
i hear you sigh,
like a muted whisper of delight.
you still manage to warm one's heart,
like you always have.
now you're looking up the sky,
it's relieving to see you smile again in years.
